Happy New Year! Now what?

I don’t do resolutions. I do list though, and I’m long due for a goal list. The beginning of the year is a great time for this, cause next week my schedule changes. Usually I list at least twice a year. Gotta refresh it as things change and goals get removed from the list. I tend to overload it, usually on purpose. I do this at work too, prepping way more then I can handle. Maybe I feed off of the stress. Either way, I tend to not put too many hard, or “impossible” tasks on my year list, being that I find it even more satisfactory to cross them off my list then putting them on in the first place. So here’s my 2012 To Do list, sorry for the boringness:

1. Buy a New Car

My truck is #1 too big #2 falling apart #3 old. I think it is time I get myself a new vehicle.

2. Graduate, or get really close to graduating

Since I don’t dictate the rules, nor the schedule times of classes, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get all the classes I want in the next 3 semesters. But I’m going to try my best to get close to graduating by the end of 2012.

3. Get a Graphic Design Job

It’s time to leave the culinary world and start to work in the industry I’ve been studying in for the past year. I’m don’t with smelling like meat and being greasy, tired and bored.

4. Make a Web Portfolio and Resume, professional social sites etc…

They go hand and hand with the getting a job thing.

5. Start a web comic

I have these comic strip ideas that pop in my head about situations in my life, and how they could have been done differently, and more humorous as well. I just need to draw, and maybe stop being lazy on my days off.

6. Make Rubber Bullets website

I’ve been asked by the band to do so. This would be my first commissioned work, although, I’ll be working for free meals and booty.

7. Buy: Wacom tablet, Camera, maybe iPad

Things for being a Graphic designer

8. Buy TV for basement and hook it up to cable.

I like watching TV when I have to do chores. If there was a TV down there I think most of those boxes would have been sorted by now. Which leads me to:

9. Sort out the Damn Basement!

It is time. I’ve been here for over a year, I gotta get it in order!

10. Take a Trip

I really don’t care where, I just need to go somewhere this year. Thinking of going to The Mutter Museum, The Warhol Museum, or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame again. I want to spend more time in Cleveland. Maybe go to Cincinnati! (Fuck You Ian!).

11. Read at least Four Books, all the way through (not audio books).

I have a bad time finishing books. If I finish the four I started last year this year, I will be satisfied.

12. Make more art, show it off, and get critiques

How else am I going to grow?

13. Exercise on a Daily basis

I need to stop being a couch potato! I’m in such bad shape, and it wouldn’t hurt me to lose a few pounds.

14. Write in a blog on a regular basis, about anything, for practice.

I think I say this every year and never stick to it. I dunno why I try.

It’s over and it sucks.

Even though it’s over I never plan on letting go. When someone means the most to you in the world, you just don’t forget them.

These Go To 11: Songs Best Heard Extra-Loud

There’s no denying certain songs are best experienced when played as loud as possible. Since this Friday, 11/11/11, is Nigel Tufnel Day — the unofficial holiday honoring the fictional Spinal Tap guitarist, who cranked his amplifiers past 10 — this week’s All Songs Considered episode is all about the songs that instantly make you want to turn the volume up.
